untitled.

as much as i stalk the blogs i follow, i sure feel like i update this more than once a week. but apparently not.

anyways, as for the husband update. there's not much improvement. he still can't stand up. {stupid, stupid blood clot} which puts a damper on anything we want to do. it's basically like taking care of two children here, except one is a little more mature {the baby... haha just kidding that's not true at all}. not that i am bitter, because it is definitely not his fault, it's just kind of exhausting. i can't wait for this to be over. {stupid blood clot} especially because he sleeps ALL the time. like takes an hour nap when he gets home at 5:00 and still goes to bed at nine. {stupid percocet} ok, i'm done venting. but hopefully this thing will GO AWAY soon!

as i just finished writing that, we had some friends come over and give levi a blessing. and basically, we're supposed to learn from this and it's not disappearing any time soon. i guess the Lord has a reason for everything. even though i'm not sure what it is at the moment.

okkkk, on to happier thoughts.... we had our halloween party yesterday and it was quite a success if i do say so myself. the child was not pleased whatsoever when we put his costume on. it's quite funny actually. he went to bed about 10 minutes into our party. ahh the joys of having people over to your house.

anyways, here are all of our costumes:

we decided to introduce drinking games to our party. what else would we drink with children around {or any other time actually?} than orange soda, fresca, dr. pepper, sprite, rootbeer and lemonade?

craig lost two times in a row and ended up with two full glasses of concoctions. needless to say, he felt a little ill.
 the pregnant one-- filling 'er up. haha this was so fun.
all in all, we had a successful party! i am a sucker for costume parties and dressing up. and cheesy games. and food. it was quite tasty! this is our last halloween here {sad} so we had to go out with a bang!

as for this rainy sunday, we spent this evening in the bath. baby loves the bath. and so does snickers. she would get  in with him if she didn't have to get her whole body in the water. here are our adventures: {note that the child refused to look at the camera because he was so enthralled with the tub}

 isn't she such a good looking kitty? she's my furry little pride and joy.

 he looks like such a sneaky little devil in this picture. cracks me up.

 self portrait of mommy and baby. sooooo good looking.

as for this week: levi has his first interview! let's all pray that he will be able to walk by then. or that they have a golf cart they can tote him around in. so we'll be heading to phoenix on friday to see nicoley woley! and to go to midwestern =)

aww.

just when you think life's a little crazy, baby gets sick too. but he's quite the charmer even when not feeling good. i love him.

 we've mastered the art of sippy cupping quite awesomely... now if he'd only learn how to hold it. i know, i know. i expect too much too soon out of my genius child. =}

and on the plus side, he does take two 2 1/2 hour naps while sick. it's lovely, even though his cough is very sad. and not that i've done any of my independent study class during all my free time. gaah

sheesh.

to say that it's been a long week is an understatement. I've thought that it's friday for the last 4 days, and finally today it felt like it. too bad it's saturday and the weekend is already over. boo. it's amazing how much life changes in a week.

levi's surgery on his ACL went fine last friday... we found out he tore his ACL 100% and his meniscus as well. always fun finding out it was worse than you thought, but he was surprisingly awake and not hurting for the most part. until he went to physical therapy and they made him work it. twice a week. thank goodness, my mother in law was here to snuggle the child because levi basically can't do anything for himself. which is tough with a child who hates being inside. {especially on gorgeous days like this week has been} he has enjoyed his walks and partying with grandma immensely this past week. mom's going to have to work to keep up with his high demands now.

but then levi went to take a shower on wednesday, and standing up in it hurt so bad he almost threw up. i shoulda known that was a sign. but the physical therapist said that's to be expected. then he went to bed at 6:30 because he didn't feel good. shoulda thought about that too. then i went to bed at 10:00 and he had his arms clutching his chest in an X and thought that was a little weird, but he woke up and sounded fine. next thing i know it's 3:00 am and he says his chest is hurting. shoot. then i have dreams about him stopping breathing in the night. that was lovely. 4:45 rolls around and he said it's getting worse. so we're off to the ER. the nice thing is that breathing problems get first precedence in the emergency room.

then the CAT scan. "you have several blood clots in your lungs levi". awesome. then we hear the doctor say to the nurse outside "he's got 16 of em in there", and she's shocked. double awesome. "you're going to need to stay here until they're gone". shooooot. soo hospital for "several" days. and my mother in law was leaving that morning. thank goodness, i can call my mom and she was there that evening to take the child. because for some reason he hates the hospital. i don't know why... he was born there. but that was sooo helpful having her here!

but baby did quite enjoy dad's bed though, when they made him go walk around for physical therapy.
{this is the life.}
{staring at the tv. of course}
{notice the string of drool onto the call phone. haha}

{the phone is pretty much the sweetest thing ever to a 6 month old}
{doing what? playing the cake mania game, of course!}
it took me about 2 days to realize that this really was a serious problem. he has to give himself shots twice a day until his clotting factors are within the range they're supposed to be. p.s. each day of shots is $120 bucks. add that up for at least two weeks. suck face. and he has to take his medicine for at least 6 months. and get his blood measured twice a week. and monitor the amount of vitamin K he eats forever. ugh. what happened to our life that was just getting a little surgery on his knee? i don't know. but i miss it already.

 i will say that i am very, very grateful that it was fixed fast and that he came home from the hospital today. we just were not completely prepared for the changes. especially the monetary ones. holy cow.

but i cannot end a post that depressingly. sooo here are some hilarious pictures from asher's FIRST birthday! and no, we didn't actually get pictures of asher because it was a challenge in itself to get him to take any. to say that he hates his costume is probably an understatement. he whines and cries the whole time. just like i imagine a lobster would. i don't think the claws tied to his hands are his favorite. haha. but it makes me laugh hysterically every time we put it on him. and when i look at these pictures. haha.

 {yes, lobsters do play with trucks}
 {dad's knee looks lovely too}
 {we have about 20 pictures of him like this. not looking at the camera because he has better things to do}
 {oh precious.}
 {he was totally unprepared for this one, but his chipmunk cheeks are hilarious. he really does store food in them. i hope he never grows outta them.}
 {wahoo it's asher's birthday!}
{we love cups. and drinking. notice we took the costume off. it lasted all of about 30 minutes before he clearly had enough}

i hope that the coming weeks are not like these at all. but something tells me they will be, because levi has dental school interviews now! oh, he also got accepted for interviews at his #1 choice, University of Pacific! so wahoo on that one! now, to only hear back from the other 6 we're still waiting on.
