zumba shumba.

i don't know why i always have to add some cheesy thing after my main title word but you know you like it. anyways, i have to show you my new favorite thing. for anyone that knows me well, or knows me at all actually, you can tell that i am the most non-exerciser ever. i hate it. i hate running, i hate being sweaty, i hate having to come back and take a shower before i can do anything, so basically i am lazy.

however, me and my oh so lovely sister in law have been zumba-ing this past month and it is fabulous. i am loving it! it's awesome too because it's $20.00 for unlimited amounts of times a month, and we are now up to 3 times a week, and will be trying hot yoga this week. be impressed with me, because i sure am. i'm pretty sure my husband is just waiting for me to quit, since i usually do, but this is 3 weeks longer than i usually do, so hurrah hurrah!

i have attached the videos of my favorite songs so that i might inspire you to do it too, because it's awesome.

this one's a little bit different than what we do, but i find her very entertaining. =))

i want some zumba pants so i can have the little rope things attached go crazy when i shake my groove thang. however they're $60+ and that's more than half of my allotted budget for the month. so i will be content with my non-legit pants until further notice.

chomp.

i feel like our life is so boring right now. we're both in school, not traveling {although i am going to reno this week}, not going on any fun excursions, not hanging out with our friends {ok, that's not entirely true, but we don't take pictures with them. hum. maybe we should so it doesn't look like we do nothing ALL the time}

i've also decided we need to take more pictures of us because all my posts are the cool things he does. what did i write about on this blog before the beast? shoes, that's what. i could use some new shoes now that i think about it, i've been wanting some more TOMS... actually, i need an outfit for Melanie's wedding this weekend more importantly but anyways, back to the oh so interesting eating habits of my child.

these recent pictures i found are of the beast participating in his favorite activity-- eating. before you look at these, i will say that i do not give him only these foods, rice cereal and veggies just tend to be very boring.

i love feeding him big people food. it's so fun to watch him pick it up and eat it, and decide what he likes and doesn't. we haven't found much that he doesn't like, he's a good eater most of the time. however, you can always tell when he's finished because he just pretends to eat it and spits it out everywhere and yells. it's lovely.

he will eat half a pear no problem. i have no idea where he stuffs all his food, but he is never ever full.

he's so cute. this is the "mom is too lazy to go upstairs to get clothes for us before breakfast" look.

he's developed the pincer grasp quite nicely now. cheerios are now goners. any dropped on the floor during snack time are picked up several hours later while crawling around our high chair.

yes, this is a waffle. i did take some of it away from him after this so he didn't eat it all, but he would have if i left it for him.
he did not actually eat the kit-kat as hard as he tried, but it is all soft and mushy from him grabbing and smooshing it when he dumps out the candy bowl on the counter.

our treat container. well it just contains cheerios, apple cinnamon bear puffs and peach puffs, but i guess for him it is a treat. best $7.00 i ever spent because it keeps him entertained for hours, well not hours, but several minutes at least.

well, now that i have thoroughly entertained you with his eating habits, i vow i will begin to post more of my shopping wants/crafts so i do not have to post about my child all the time, despite how cute he may be.

the end.

randomator.

i hate how i go to stalk people's blogs and they haven't updated in like more than 4 days so i have nothing new to read, and then i look at myself and think "i really have nothing to write about" so this is the random post so that i can say that i'm not as hypocritical as i feel.

  • as i write this, i have made a trail around the room in treats which consist of puffs and cheerios to keep the monster entertained. this is the only other reason he will crawl, besides a cell phone, and in between his lip-smacking/chomping, he looks up at me, "ra-ra-da-bra-da-glefgh", smacks the carpet, lies down and sucks his thumb, jumps back up, screams, and then moves on to the next treat lined up for him. it's pretty much the same after he eats every treat. it's so funny and pathetic at the same time.
  • i have been feeling especially lazy lately, i'm not sure if it's because of the office {curse netflix}, or because my classes are MWF this semester instead of TTH {torture, 3 days of school sucks}or because it's my last semester and i don't give a hoot, or all three, but i would rather sit and do nothing than pick up any of my books. i feel the same way towards crafting/housework as well. it's taking me 5 times longer to do anything lately than usual.
  • i love zumba. as hard as it is, it is my kind of exercise with music and ridiculous butt shaking and fabulousness. i hate exercising, but this one is great! even though i get disgustingly sweaty, that's ok, because i don't even really notice it as much as i used to.
  • my blog header makes me very irritated. i don't know why it's blurry when i have the pixels the same as what they say they'll shrink it down to.
  • i can't wait to move so i can decorate my house again the way i want to. not that i didn't this time, but i'm ready to switch it up.
  • i wish the beast could figure out how to roll over again. i usually find him in his bed in the mornings screaming his head off, with his head stuck in the corner cept for now he's on his hands and knees in there, 180 degrees from the way we laid him down. it was funny the first four times, but now i wish he would figure out how to lay down and roll back over so he'll go back to sleep, because at 5:00 am this is not so funny. if anyone has any suggestions for this, that would be very helpful.
  • i would kill for some funfetti cupcakes right now.
  • i also hate making dinner. i hate cooking in general actually. it's not necessarily the act of it, but having to decide, write down the shopping list, haul the monster and myself to the store sometime between eating and napping, unload the bags, and then having to cook it. i feel like the food in restaurants is so much more delicious than mine anyways. if only i could eat out every day. ahhh, that would be the life.

since a post without pictures is very boring, here are some of this past week. my camera has been dead and we haven't really done anything fun so i apologize for the lack of awesomeness.
the flash gets him every time, but he looks cute with his eyes closed too.=)

the extent of my crafting the past several weeks are these: i have so many things i want to make, yet i'm so lacking in motivation to do any of them. it's terrible.

ha, i actually did not do this one, levi's sister did, but while i was in his room i figured i might as well capture this. =) she did a pretty good job eh?

65 degrees and sunny.

ummm, have i mentioned how much i love california?? because i do. the weather today-- phenomenal. i get excited just thinking about it. and it's january, it was like 65 degrees! which for all you canadian people who stalk my blog and never comment {ahem}, is roughly around 20 degrees. i remember thinking about how much i hated the idea of moving to san francisco. hated probably is an understatement. it was quite passionate. however, after spending the day shopping for places to live, i love it, despite the outrageous amount of rent that we will be paying. that's ok, we'll make money eventually right? right.

this is probably going to be a long post, but i got several requests to show off places we were looking at so i will have to describe what we found as well as put pictures up. first off, the husband requested having 3 bedrooms so one of them he could study in {which the other half turns into my craft room, hehe} and when we have our second kid sometime during school, they can handle sharing a room. zak will only be 4 anyways by the time we leave. my request was it allowed cats {can't leave the precious animal} and a washer and dryer.

i'm not going to put pics up of the first two we looked at, the first one, cheaper.... but no washer and dryer, it was communal aaaand the place itself was definitely a downgrade from what we have. it would have been a whole lot cheaper and closer, but there was a fantastic one an extra 5 minutes away and i'll suck up the extra money. well, levi will. we looked at 4 places, but narrowed it down to two, and they both said they should have places for us in june and will keep us posted when a 3 bedroom opens up.

this is the first one: called larkspur courts, they didn't have a 3 bedroom to show us of either place so these are the two bedrooms ones.

yes, that would be our deck. it is awesome.

sorry the lighting sucks, but the living room.
coat closet. i've waited 3 years for one of these bad boys. ahhhh i'm so excited to move.
this is the only part that i am not pleased with in this place. it is tinyyy!! and totally closed off so i wouldn't be able to see much going on in the living room. but it's not too bad, so i could make do if necessary.
love that the washer and dryer have cupboards above them. fabulous.
 guest/zak's bathroom
guest/zak's room. not sure which one since there were only two bedrooms in this place.
 part of guest closet.
this master bedroom closer is set up very weird. where zak is is the bathroom and outside of it there are two closets, the one with clothes hanging up and the one at the end. so semi-walk in closet-ish?
 master bedroom.

this place is fantastic, it's about 20 minutes away from the city, there is shopping center right across the street with a couple restaurants and a frozen yogurt place, sushi, etc etc. it has a heated pool year round, several hot tubs throughout the complex and is basically fabulous. i didn't take many pictures of the outside because my camera died, but i do love it.

the second place is actually on the opposite side of san francisco, which means levi would not have to take golden gate bridge in. {did you know that the toll is $6.00??!! that's $30.00 a week just going to school. gah!}it definitely has a different vibe than the other one, it's more city like and less peaceful harbor like but we both still really like it, i think we're actually leaning toward it anyways. it's called la terrazza.

kitchen and dining room. can you say love??! because i do. it's so open!!
the kitchen from the living room.
 view outside the living room.
 washer and dryer. obviously.
 guest/zak shower.
 and sink.
 guest/zak room.
part of living room. i couldn't fit it all in the ipod camera.
part of master bedroom. same problem as above.
you can't see it. but this is a walk in closet. score. absolutely.
 part of connected master bathroom.
patio with storage on the end.

it's a tough choice between the two, i think we'd take either, though the second definitely would work better with school and such. i hope you have thoroughly enjoyed looking at the pictures as much as we did. haha, because i know you all care so much.

huzzah for getting older, moving out of the bubble and on with our lives! =))

oh boy oh boy.

tomorrow. yes tomorrow, the baby will 9 months old! it's blowing my mind how he's as old as how long he was in my belly. i seriously cannot believe it. in just 3 months he will be a year old! holy moly.

some of the things we love:

the kitty. now that we are somewhat mobile, her tail and paws are our favorite things to go and get. luckily we have an amazingly nice kitty who will continue to love him even when he pulls out her hair.

eating. i know i say this everytime, but he does love his food. however, he now loves to feed himself, bananas, cheerios, cucumbers, pears and graduate puffs are a few of our favorites. typically, he double fists it, as seen in this picture. =)

jumping. as mentioned in previous posts, he does love it. this picture is the ONE and ONLY time he's ever fallen asleep anywhere besides a bed or his carseat.

being crazy in bed. this is how i find him every morning and nap. i laugh everytime i see him.

our train. even though it's for big kids, we do love it.

chilaxing. crawling is exhausting.... so this is what we frequently look like now. notice the pillow he has created. he's a smart one, this kid.

the wheels on the bus. our favorite verse is "the mommy's on the bus go shh shh shh". i think he likes the way my mouth moves when we sing it. it's pretty funny.

swimming in the bathtub.

clapping when 30 rock comes on or is over. it's hilarious.

i'm sure there are lots of other things he loves, but i can't think of any at the moment.

he is now 19.5 lbs {32th percentile}and 28.5 inches {65 percentile}. its interesting to watch his percentages go down over the appointments, he used to be such a chunkster. but he's skinnying down. must be all that jumping.

what the what?

after 3 months of "he's going to next week for sure", this is the final result today:

he would somewhat crawl for a phone.

this one's just funny in the middle. cracks me up. dad did a good job videotaping this evening.

the best thing in the whole world.

does this picture look blurry to you?? well, thats the best i could do with the bouncing machine who never quits. we got a jumperoo after much success with markus' up in canada. this one's a little bit cooler to him because it rotates around and a lot of the time he just jumps around in circles.

to say that this is his favorite thing in the whole wide world might even be an understatement. who knew a toy could provide so much intrigue and exercise and happiness all at the same time?

this is the only place besides lying down someplace he might consider taking a nap.he seriously will put his head again the headrest, thumb in mouth and close his eyes while jumping. it's hilarious.

he's probably spends a good couple hours a day in this bad boy, not because i just stick him in there i will mention, he usually cries when i take him out before he's ready. i think all of the toys on it blow his mind, as you can see in the next two pictures.

{check out those eyebrows! this is very intense. he's going to crack us up when he's older.}

{don't you love the little hook on his nose? that finger gets in the way for maximum thumb sucking, so he moved it. haha}

i also think he looks way older with his hair cut. he's so mature. =}}

sorry for the blurry pictures, someday i'll have an awesome camera that can capture insane jumping and not look crazy.
