bang bang.

we had a pretty uneventful week. mom wrote a paper and some essay questions, dad put tile in the upstairs bathroom. snickers avoided the beast for 90% of it. so, to keep us entertained during this humdrum week, mom made a drum set for us. we banged on it for about 5 minutes and then decided it was funner to eat the spoon for the rest of the time.

he's pretty good looking in my opinion.  i've also decided that his hair is going to look like this for the rest of his life. no hairspray or gel can tame it.

twelve minus two.

equals how big the monster is. in two months he will be a year old. in two months, i will be able to have his birthday party, which i have been dreaming about, literally dreaming... in my sleep, for quite some time. for all those dying to know, we're having a cowboy party. and it's going to be fabulous. i feel my mom's anile yet perfect event planning coming into my life now. i don't know what to do with myself. but anyways... ten months.

i have realized that i write everything he does on here so that i can go back and look at it, because i don't remember, so sorry for boring you about everything he does, that every other ten month old does. and probably has for ages, since he tends to be a little slower/lazy.

he has somewhat learned how to stand up in the last couple weeks, well i take that back. he knows how, however, he is lazy, and is content to stand on his knees  to reach. and he pretty much can grab everything that way. it's quite impressive how he finds the easy way to do everything. cracks me up.

this is usually as far as he gets, he knows how to reach everything this way.

he earned his first face scratches from the cat this week. and totally deserved it. actually he deserved it like 2 months ago, but she is a very patient cat. there's only so many times that you can have your hair ripped out before you have a smack down.
*we are trying to teach him to "be soft" but we're not quite there yet.

we officially had to buy a baby gate, due to the beast following the four legged beast down the stairs. however, he only made it to the landing of the stairs before we got him.

i really can't think of much he does different now. man, this is kind of a lame birthday post. oh well, we still love him, and think he's fabulous. in conclusion, i will leave you with these pictures that make you wish you were a kid.

and yes, this may be a hershey's bar and kit-kat. he only gets the best food. =)
dad refused to take him upstairs with clothes on to get in the bath, so mom had to strip him down.... dad might be a little bit of a chicken. =)

v-day. like d-day except happier.

the husband and i celebrated the big ol' v-day on friday because 1. mondays are crazy for him 2. we have a beast who would need to go to bed early and 3. because provo is insane, and will definitely be on monday. so we traded off with jenni and donnie and went out on the town.

disclaimer: i did not pick out my husband's outfit. not one part of it. he got the shirt as a gift from my grandma, and picked out the tie himself {he has a thing for ties. like i have for shoes.} despite what people would think about why he would be wearing such an outrageous color, i had nothing to do with it.

we started here:
i highly recommend splurging and going here for dinner before you move away, if you live here. yes, it did almost cost us $100 bucks, {we would rather eat than give cheesy presents like chocolates and such} but it was worth the experience. they take your coat, there's a guy playing the piano when you walk in, they give you sorbet to cleanse your palate, and the food is also delish. oh, and you need to dress nice. none of this jeans and nice shirt business. go all out. not like tux all out, but shirt and tie, skirt all out.

then we went to color me mine to pick up these little buggers we made on our last date out. pretty fabulous eh? if you don't know what they are.... i don't know what to tell you. however, i'll pay you big money if you can tell who made which one. =) not really, but you can guess if you'd like.

after we stopped there, we came back to YoZone because we had a free yogurt coupon. and why not be cheap after you spent it all on dinner?

note: this is not actually what i got, i just found this picture on the interweb. i got white chocolate and raspberry yogurt, with cheesecake bites, strawberries and gummi bears, {which btw tasted like medicine. blech}. but everything besides the gummi bears was delicious...

after we picked up the monster, we came back and watched Chuck because we were several episodes behind. all in all, i would say that our date was pretty successful, and delicious. i love eating out. i love v-day. and all it's ridiculous cheesiness. and pink. and flowers. and new clothes for the special date. hehe. oh, and i love my husband. wouldn't be a fun v-day without him, that's for sure. muah.

i'm a big kid now.

if i said that i didn't laugh at my child every time i feed him, i would be lying. because i do. he's hilarious. his  limited amount of teeth {one and a half to be exact} don't stop him from chewing or pretend chewing, despite what people would think.

my best friend's wedding.

it was just like the movie, except i didn't steal the man or try to. but my best friend melanie got married. and it was fabulous. i went back to reno for the weekend, well actually it was more like wednesday through saturday. i am so so happy for her and bryan to finally be hitched! it made me want to get married all over again. however, my husband vetoed that. and said it would have to be to someone else. party pooper.

my fabulous little brother watched the beast on friday while i went to the wedding, which was nice because he happened to get his second tooth while josh was watching him. suckaa. apparently it's a reno thing, because he got his last tooth while we were there for thanksgiving. he is no longer a snaggletooth!! finally.

he did a good job watching him. playing with potato guns. you know how we do in reno.... he does love playing piano though.

and while they were shooting things in the backyard, i was here:

 her fabulous family/bridesmaids/groomesman.

aren't we just fabulous? and yes, she is gorgeous.

i was told i must bring the man to the reception, so we had to get him dressed up all fancy. =)
i'll be honest, and say i really like my hair in this picture. the beast on the other hand, is less than impressed with me.

aren't they just so cutee?? i'm so glad i got to go.

while we were there, he also decided to learn how to stand up in the slippery bathtub. which is very weird. but he would not sit down after he learned the trick. it's so funny. i'm not sure if it's sensored appropriately, i don't remember, so sorry if there's any little man parts you don't want to see.

zumba shumba.

i don't know why i always have to add some cheesy thing after my main title word but you know you like it. anyways, i have to show you my new favorite thing. for anyone that knows me well, or knows me at all actually, you can tell that i am the most non-exerciser ever. i hate it. i hate running, i hate being sweaty, i hate having to come back and take a shower before i can do anything, so basically i am lazy.

however, me and my oh so lovely sister in law have been zumba-ing this past month and it is fabulous. i am loving it! it's awesome too because it's $20.00 for unlimited amounts of times a month, and we are now up to 3 times a week, and will be trying hot yoga this week. be impressed with me, because i sure am. i'm pretty sure my husband is just waiting for me to quit, since i usually do, but this is 3 weeks longer than i usually do, so hurrah hurrah!

i have attached the videos of my favorite songs so that i might inspire you to do it too, because it's awesome.

this one's a little bit different than what we do, but i find her very entertaining. =))

i want some zumba pants so i can have the little rope things attached go crazy when i shake my groove thang. however they're $60+ and that's more than half of my allotted budget for the month. so i will be content with my non-legit pants until further notice.

chomp.

i feel like our life is so boring right now. we're both in school, not traveling {although i am going to reno this week}, not going on any fun excursions, not hanging out with our friends {ok, that's not entirely true, but we don't take pictures with them. hum. maybe we should so it doesn't look like we do nothing ALL the time}

i've also decided we need to take more pictures of us because all my posts are the cool things he does. what did i write about on this blog before the beast? shoes, that's what. i could use some new shoes now that i think about it, i've been wanting some more TOMS... actually, i need an outfit for Melanie's wedding this weekend more importantly but anyways, back to the oh so interesting eating habits of my child.

these recent pictures i found are of the beast participating in his favorite activity-- eating. before you look at these, i will say that i do not give him only these foods, rice cereal and veggies just tend to be very boring.

i love feeding him big people food. it's so fun to watch him pick it up and eat it, and decide what he likes and doesn't. we haven't found much that he doesn't like, he's a good eater most of the time. however, you can always tell when he's finished because he just pretends to eat it and spits it out everywhere and yells. it's lovely.

he will eat half a pear no problem. i have no idea where he stuffs all his food, but he is never ever full.

he's so cute. this is the "mom is too lazy to go upstairs to get clothes for us before breakfast" look.

he's developed the pincer grasp quite nicely now. cheerios are now goners. any dropped on the floor during snack time are picked up several hours later while crawling around our high chair.

yes, this is a waffle. i did take some of it away from him after this so he didn't eat it all, but he would have if i left it for him.
he did not actually eat the kit-kat as hard as he tried, but it is all soft and mushy from him grabbing and smooshing it when he dumps out the candy bowl on the counter.

our treat container. well it just contains cheerios, apple cinnamon bear puffs and peach puffs, but i guess for him it is a treat. best $7.00 i ever spent because it keeps him entertained for hours, well not hours, but several minutes at least.

well, now that i have thoroughly entertained you with his eating habits, i vow i will begin to post more of my shopping wants/crafts so i do not have to post about my child all the time, despite how cute he may be.

the end.
