.

this post is a culmination of random things since i have nothing exciting to write about.

1. we went to levi's first ever major league baseball game this past weekend. yankees vs. the oakland a's. it was a lot of fun, we sat very close, ate surprisingly delicious nachos and saw the fireworks. josh and my father came down for the weekend and partied hard with us.

2. zak is 95% potty trained. he hasn't had an accident while we're out yet, and has figured out how to hold it. it's pretty awesome. he only wears diapers at nighttime and nap time now. he's amazing.

3. i have had a gross desire to cook recently. probably because i want something delicious and don't know what it is, so i just make stuff. and i'm bored. so far this week, we've made zucchini muffins, taquitos, crepes, peanut butter brownie cups, and orange julius smoothies. ask my husband if i've made dinner very frequently though, and that answer is probably not looking as good.

4. i have a very very intense desire to go shopping now. probably because i hate all my clothes, but i cannot wait until i'm not pregnant. actually, i might buy these non pregnant clothes and just wear them unbuttoned anyways because i love them so much.
the ones i actually want are more minty, but the picture on the h&m website wouldn't save.
going along with this shopping dilemma, i have been having an incredibly hard time getting dressed recently. i will blame it on again, hating my clothes, potty training inside for a week, and the crappy cold we live in. you know it's a bad sign when your kid says "mommy put clothes on and go to zoo!" when i ask him if he wants to go to the zoo tomorrow. {not that i walk around naked, that'd be weird}

5. my friend due three weeks before me is in labor right now. i never thought i'd be jealous of a person giving birth, but i totally wish i could be done now too. six more weeks. six more weeks. six more weeks.

6. as of next monday, levi is officially finished his first year of dental school. we're 1/3 of the way done!!!

7. being pregnant with a two year old is tough. thank goodness levi is home these last weeks to help my off set my crazy mom-ness.

8. i kind of hate these boots. we got them as hand me downs and they were hidden in his closet, but somehow he found them. not only are they literally double the size of his feet, he insists on wearing them all the time. and i just give in because i'm too lazy to fight him on it.

9. sometimes i'm amazed at my child. he just asked if we could go to ikea and buy more choo choo trains for him to play with. not only did we buy those over a month ago, i'm surprised he knows where we went to buy them. he's impressive.

10. i need something delicious to eat right now. if only i knew what it was that i needed to satisfy me.

love.

phew, three posts in one day, i am awesome.

while the potty training was infinitely more successful today, i had more time to continue the decorating fad that i'm on instead of stalking my child to make sure he doesn't pee on everything. i am absolutely loving the babe's room.  i decided that we needed to add another color besides grey and orange because 1. orange is really hard to find cheap. or find at all. 2. i needed to save money so i added a color we already had. i really like it a lot.

i also absolutely love his name. and how it turned out. and it cost me a fraction of anthropologie.
i also think that my knobs look a lot less girly on the crib. but that's just my opinion. i still also love them.

these are my spray painted adventures. well not the lamp. but i painted the black mirrors and frames. someday they'll have pictures of the wee one, so excited! and my clock was a super ghetto white one that i stole from my parent's house, but i think that spray painting it gave it a little extra class.

i also still love our crib bedding. and my crayon art. which is WAY messier than you would think. but it still looks great.
now i'm just waiting for my fab curtains to arrive from walmart.com, {the best store ever. the fact that the closest one is 45 minutes away is very depressing. everything is so cheap there. target just isn't the same}

when it's all finished, i'll whip out pictures of the whole room. but for now just pieces will have to suffice. =)

miracle.

this week we started the dreaded PT. aka potty training. why so early you ask? because zak has been hounding us to let him do it. literally. he got on the toilet and has gone #2 several times, so we figured we needed to take advantage of his eagerness before it disappears. and by we, i mean levi. i have been dreading this moment since he was born.

yesterday was torture. we followed the method of "Potty Training Boot Camp" and i thought i was going to kill myself. and him. he would literally go as soon as he got off the toilet every single time, even if he had been sitting there for half an hour. i had no idea what to do. when levi got home, i escaped to target and sat in the car, being pathetic & crying to my mom about how i can't do this. being pregnant does not help my ability to cope with two year olds yelling "NOOO" and so so many pairs of wet underwear.

today, a miracle happened. literally. i was praying and praying for some patience, inspiration and a miracle to make me not want to quit for the next year and thankfully my prayers were answered. i realized today that a timer method does not work with him. neither does me telling him to go all the time. neither does wearing underwear {nakedness solved the problem}. as soon as i figured these things out this morning, he had absolutely no accidents. he would run and get on the toilet all by himself without me saying absolutely anything. every single time. no timer, no nagging, no mom involved. it truly was a miracle. my life got infinitely better. mom's not going to be a psycho pregnant person, and zak got to be independent and a big kid.

i learned two things today: 1. that sometimes the best way to achieve success is to let him do it himself. who knew a two year old could be successful all by himself? it's crazy that he's old enough to do things on his own now.
2. even prayers as dumb as me needing help with my peeing child are important enough to be answered. not that i didn't know that, but it's nice to have a reminder every now and again. thank you.

trucks.

have i mentioned how much i love living here? because i do. they have such amazing things to do around the city, and most of the time, they're free! love it. this past weekend, we went to "touch a truck" down in burlingame. it was uh-mazing.

there is a preschool that brings in basically every type of truck and lets the kids get in and push every single button. it was awesome. and kept him entertained for several hours, walking around to all of the trucks.

zak and his bff. just barely sharing the wheel. this was too important to share.

my boys are so handsome. i absolutely love this picture.

obviously, firetrucks were his favorite because i have the most pictures with them. he absolutely loved it.

the motorcycle was his next favorite because it was like daddy's. except a lot more expensive than his was. =)

they also let the kids paint a truck with finger paint. one of the highlights.

it was a beautiful day and a great way to spend making us the best parents ever. ;)

more decorating.

making the babe's room has inspired me. zak really shouldn't get the short end of the stick with his room not decorated while his little brother has a sweet room. luckily, i have most of this stuff for him so it shouldn't cost me much.

zak's room

i need to make his name in the metallic letters {post to come on that awesomeness soon} but i need to wait until next month when he has money in his allotted budget for me to buy them.

we're going to make these crayon collages today, i'm thinking we'll have two of them underneath his name? maybe three. depends on how much the canvas is at michael's with my 40% off coupon. the colors in his room are lime green/white/black so i might not do a rainbow but something more along those colors. i haven't decided yet.

other than those, we have everything else for his room. i just need to rearrange it. and make it cuter. hurrah for decorating! i love it! =)

magical.

this weekend we went to the most magical place on earth. newport beach. and disneyland. it was fabulous.

my brother and i drove down to newport on thursday for my cute cousin's wedding. isn't she gorgeous?

the event brought out most of the clason family. it was so fun to see our family.

unfortuantely, zak was very very tired and refused to take any happy pictures with me. but that's ok. he's still cute when he's grouchy.

they had a luncheon on the beach as well. isn't it gorgeous? if i had lots of money, i'd move there.

the next day we went to disneyland. i can't even tell you how excited i was. it was awesome. minus my feet still being swollen from walking around so much, it was a quite successful trip.

we went to breakfast with the characters and zak absolutely loved it. not only does he love every disney character on mickey mouse, but he was very very excited to see them and take pictures with them, which was basically the whole reason i wanted to go.

yeah for pregnant pictures.

his favorite's were minnie and chip by far.

he stalked minnie for ages while we were getting breakfast for him. he thought she was super cute.

i love these with chip. they look like they have a private joke going on.

he has no idea who eeyore is so he wasn't super stoked for him. besides eeyore is kind of depressing anyways.

the men. trying to maintain their manhood in front of the castle.

the first thing he wanted to do was ride the carousel. that's what you come to disney for right?

and then drive mr. toad's car. which we didn't go on because the line was horrendously long.

we didn't actually ride the tea cups. 1. because i hate them and 2. because the line for them was also ridiculously long. we took this picture after the little man waiting in line to ride dumbo and found it completely unsatisfying. obviously he was thrilled. it makes me laugh every time i look at it.

pluto decided to be a little gangsta for our picture. zak also loved him a lot. lots of hugs and kisses.

toontown was by far the most awesome place for him. he thought it was the coolest thing he's ever been to. especially this phone.
 oh and the firetruck.

after the beast and i came back to the hotel and took a nap, we were refreshed and ready to go tackle california adventure. we went to dinner, played in a bug's life area, watched josh and dad go on the big roller coaster and rode on ariel's underwater ride. but even 3 hours later, he was exhausted and he went back to the hotel with josh and grandpa to let mom and dad party.
meaning we went on pirates, because that's one of the only cool rides you can ride while pregnant, watched the fireworks & fantasmic and went home. we're cool like that. i don't know how people do a whole day/week there, because it's so exhausting.

but it was an excellent vacation. zak and i are going to need a week to recover from this wild ride of a weekend. good thing we have absolutely nothing going on ever now. for reals though, no vacations, no nothing planned. i don't know what we're going to do. who wants to come entertain us?
