swimmer.

i got this in the mail today. and it looks even sexier on me than it does on the model. ok, maybe not, but i like to think so. =) it is fabulous. i LOVE damask. however, i did not get the frilly bottom to go with it. that would be a little too much for me, who never wears hot pink swim suits. i did get this though:
why is it so high and old lady-ish you might ask? because it's called a "tummy tuk". and very appropriately so. i am a big fan. hurrah for 1. exercising--> sucking the stomach in 2. being done nursing to take off that extra 7ish lbs. 3. buying swimsuits online. if you're interested, the top is from here and the bottom is from here

week of awesomeness.

this week has been fun-filled. and by fun-filled, i mean school filled. i handed in my "after four years of college, this paper should be awesome" paper to independent study. and it was if i do say so myself. in case you were curious, it was on the impact of care-giver characteristics on infant language development. sounds smart eh? i'll admit i may have enjoyed writing it, i find the topic very interesting. i should be taking the final this week, and on my way to having one paper and one stupid poster presentation to the old people left before finals aaaand GRADUATION. huzzah huzzah!

to celebrate being finished with my paper, i spent quite a while on making the beast's party invitations. i know, it's a little ridiculous, apparently, i have my mother in me. and besides, his invitations are freaking awesome. i blurred out all the good stuff, so no creepy people show up at his party, since i know many of you secretly stalk my blog, like i stalk yours. hehe.

can you believe he's a year? i sure can't.

and since march madness has been ever present in our house, i decided i might as well make his banner right now too and get that over with. i will say though, that my husband cut out the triangles, because he is an excellent cutter. so props to levi!

in other news, because i can't just post about my craftiness.... the beast has found his electronics quite enjoyable lately. he's figured out he can reach the tv, which results in it being turned off, the channel changed, volume moved, switched to the wii or xbox, basically whenever he wants.

the phone has also become quite fun. he's learned how to push buttons and since the phone makes noise when you push it, it might be as cool as dad's cell phone is.

these two pictures were taken within about 10 minutes of each other. he has a hard time choosing what he wants to do lol but the cat is a motivating factor to play wii. she and him are bff's now. he's gotten to be a lot softer with her, and he now says "titty titty" when he sees her. ok, only about 25% of the time, but he only says it to her, so we'll go with that being "kitty kitty".
our other new passion is watching the washer and dryer. if the cat food/litter wasn't in there, i would leave him in there for an hour and he would just sit and watch the cycles. it's pretty funny.

his cheesy faces are just coming up more and more in pictures. and i love every one of them.

he looks like a little man in this picture and no longer a baby. oh my goodness.

ugh.

this week has been a terrible week. zakary snakary got sick on monday, like miserably "i feel like i want to cuddle with mom" sick, which was fun for the first day, but then it just got better. sneezing everywhere, nose running everywhere, coughing. ugh, it was pretty much the worst.

but no, the worst was me and levi getting it, while the beast has begun to feel better. this ends up being a conflict of interest for the three of us. well, mostly for me, since levi gets away with having to do school stuff instead of staying home trying to persuade our child that he actually does like his dad. {we've been going through a bit of separation anxiety with mom leaving the room, dad does not cut it apparently}

when we all get over this, i swear, i will punch anyone who brings their child to nursery or to our house or anywhere close to us, that has even a sniffly nose. do everyone in the world a favor and keep your freaking germs to yourself.

and because for some reason the only pictures i ever take of our child are of him eating, here you go. =)

foodie weirds.

my child refuses to eat anything but dried fruit. it's a little bit ridiculous. he will eat the dried versions, but not the alive {what's the normal version called?} fruits. gone is the child so willing to eat everything we give him, he's now refusing food. so far today, we've eaten dried: strawberries, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, raisins, prunes, apricots, pineapple, bananas, and dates. actual bananas? nope. eggs? nope. just when you think you figure your kid out, they do something crazy. i'm sure in a couple of days he'll get tired of the fruit too and decide he won't eat those either.

he really will not eat much i give him now. hot dogs? nope. ham? nope. pasta? nope. cheerios? nope. corn chex? yes. apples? nope. corn, peas carrots? nope. however, the tricky thing is, that he will eat all his baby food and rice cereal stuff. i'm beginning to think he might be a little lazy and knows i'll give into feeding him those as a back up plan. i need some ideas of what to feed this child, besides snacks. please give your suggestions, of what you a. fed your kid b. feed your kid or c. would like to eat yourself if you were a kid.

and since no post is good without a picture, here is what we look like in the morning:  yes, that is egg on his eye. and notice his hair cut, no longer a shaggy dog, though it is a big case of bed head.

sigh....

have i mentioned how excited i am to move?? because i am. actually, i'm most excited to re do our place. put stuff in different places, find new decorations, change the colors. ahhhhhhh.

i want this so bad, i might kill for it. aaaaack. i love it so so so so much.

and a couple of these bad boys for the windows in the family room. have i mentioned i have a thing for damask print lately? because i do.

and i can't wait to get a real couch. our futon will be going into the guest/study/craft room. and we will be leaving the beloved love seat behind for future generations to enjoy. =)

and i will hit up homegoods and find some fabulous little nick nacks to put on top of our kitchen cabinets. and maybe some end tables, like in the couch pictures. but cooler looking.

this will be entering our house as soon as we set foot in our new place. levi has been saving up for ages to buy this bad boy.

and i will be hopefully getting this to go with it.

how will i find the money you ask? graduation. hopefully. and if not, i'm not sure how. maybe our tax return if there's any left after paying our life savings to Pacific to save our spots. maybe sell my soul. you know... =)

random.

after last week's chaotic-ness, it's nice to just here and have nothing to do. so i'm watching Greek while the beast is napping. and i am addicted. i would highly recommend it.
also, i'm trying to decide on a new pair of toms. i love them so much. they're so comfy, and fabulous.

i'm not sure which ones i like the best, but i love them all. also, i have gold sparkly ones and grey ones. preferences??

also, not that i'm biased, but i think my kid's pretty good looking. also, he's wearing 12-18 month clothes now. it's kind of blowing my mind. how can he fit into pants that have legit buttons and zippers on them, and shirts that dont have snaps on the bottom of them? as a side note, he's still in size 2-3 shoes. yes, those are for 3-6 month olds. it's quite funny.

someday, his hair will lie down. i don't understand why it's so crazy. when one side finally lies down, the other side goes psychotic.

i scored big time with the man yesterday. i bought a laptop for him from kid-to-kid. to say that he loves it, might be an understatement.

how you can tell he loves it:
1. he won't let mom or dad touch it.
2. dad trying to entice him to come to him with food. ignored.
3. he crawls madly around, but repeatedly goes back to the laptop.
4. he sits on top of it and smacks it around.

a day in the life.

as i'm studying for my stupid adult development test, i decided to take a break and show all you stalkers a day in the life of the beast. because his life is fascinating.

8:00 am- wake up, stand in my crib and pull things off the changing table until mom comes in and gets me.

8:30 am- breakfast of champions- today included milk, apple juice/water combo, 2 scrambled eggs, half a piece of bacon, 2/3 of a banana and 2 slices of an apple

i laugh every time i look at this picture.
his hair is out of control.

9:00 am- crawl madly around the house. climb up the stairs when mom's trying to put things in the crockpot, which in turn resulted in mom putting the gate up, so we can't go up anymore.

 success.
9:30- terrorize the cat. debate whether following her down the stairs is worth it.

thinking very hard about the decision.

10:00am- mom makes me come back down stairs so she can finish making dinner. so i walk around for a bit.

 ehh. walking sucks.

10:20am- read some books with mom. turn the pages so she can't actually read it, but it's the thought that counts.

10:30-12:30pm- take a nap. wake up ready to party.

12:45 pm- eat lunch. which today consisted of chicken and country vegetables, oatmeal and pears, pretzels and cheerios and apple juice/water.

trying to drink it all by myself.

1:15- terrorize the house. crawl into bathroom to try and eat cat food, mom closes bathroom door and hopes cat doesn't need to use the litter box any time soon. try and yank off gate off the stairs. come back, unload all the toys, try and climb up chair where mom is trying to study. whine, successfully get picked up, push all mom's books on the floor, mom gets book for me to read while she reads hers.

2:30-4:30pm- nap time. mom tries to study for her stupid tests. 6 more weeks, and then she never has to do this again.

4:45 pm- dinner time, today probably consisting of a hot dog, sweet potatoes and mangoes.

6:00 pm- second dinner when mom and dad eat. i will eat all the things out of their soup like kidney beans, carrots, celery and potatoes.

6:30 pm- play around, terrorize what mom cleaned up during my nap.

7:00 pm- bath time with dad.

7:30-8:00 pm- put pj's on, read a book and go to bed.

yes, these pj's are awesome. they have a tail too.

sleep for 12 hours and wake up again prepared to do the same thing again. it's a hard life

honor code.

ok, i'll be honest and say that i'm not the biggest sports fan so byu basketball is not something i usually keep up with, despite how they are ranked #3, but yes, i am proud of them. so then i read on facebook that one of the players has been dismissed from the team because he had sex, and is awaiting to hear whether he got kicked out of school. nice. there are some times when i think byu is a little bit ridiculous. i am not saying at all that the honor code is bad, minus the stupid "you may not use the bathroom of the opposite sex" rule, but i think that stuff such as your sexual relationship should be kept between you and your bishop. yes, he made a mistake, but i know several students at byu who have had sex, yet worked it out with their bishop and are still going to school here, married in the temple and so forth. i just think that getting kicked off the team is a little extreme. i could understand going out and drinking, being reckless, doing something that effects how the team and byu looks, but sleeping with his girlfriend? really?

note: i am not saying that what he did was right at all, the honor code is there for a reason, but mistakes happen. no need for the whole entire world to know about it. and make him feel like crap. or his girlfriend for that matter, i bet her life's pretty terrible right now. so let's be a little more sympathetic byu and byu fans.
