i have the cutest baby in the whole world.

i went to jenni's to weigh him last night since we don't have a scale and he weighs a whopping 15 lbs!

which i calculated and that puts him in about the 95th percentile for weight at 6 weeks. 

where does he store it all??

{phew} this weekend is over. after much planning and preparation the baby blessing is finally happened. my family as well as levi's made the journey here, and we had about 30 people that came to welcome the babe into the fold =) 

thankfully, the weather turned nice for the 3 hours we needed it to and it was great. the babe was happy and there was enough food to feed about double the amount of people we had there. the park worked out great and we spent most of the time in the sun, since the shade was a little chilly.

after the blessing we went to see shrek 4 {cute cute, i liked it in 3-D}, we had to change outfits during the show because we may or may not have barfed ALL over everything. blanket, pants, shirts, car seat. everything.

good morning.

A Morning in the Life of Babe and Mom

7:02 am - babe is hungry so mom gets up to feed him
7:15 am- mom and babe get back into bed with daddy
7:30 am- daddy gets up and gets ready for school
7:32 am- mom moves babe over so she can have more room
7:32 and 30 seconds- babe projectiles milk ALL over the bed {good thing mom moved, otherwise bad bad things would have happened to her clothes}
7:32 and 45 seconds- mom thinks "i can't go back to sleep now... dang child.... i needed another 2 hours"
7:34 am- mom takes sheets off to get washed asap so maybe she might be able to go back to bed
7:40 am- mom gets babe dressed and finds this little treasure which makes everything better

7:45 am- mom gets breakfast and babe plays with his underwater friends for a bit

8:00 am- babe gets tired from playing with underwater friends and wants to go to back to sleep. mom rejoices.
8:02 am- babe wakes up from lack of sucky being in his mouth. mom puts it back in.
8:04 am-babe twitches like a crazy man and wakes up. goes back to sleep.
8:05 am- sucky falls out. mom puts it back in.
8:06 am- sucky falls out. mom waits to see if he will whine for it but he doesn't.
8:07 am- babe whines so mom sticks sucky back in.
...... hopefully at some point during this adventure he'll look like this:

it's a good thing he's cute cuz mom getting up earlier than expected doesn't usually go over well. but how could you be mad at a face like this? it's precious.

room.

i've been waiting weeks and weeks and weeks to do this: we've redone our room! it was not a pretty sight before let me tell you, but i made this fabulous headboard this week with the help of my lovely friend kathryn and turned this:

i can't tell you how this makes me want to stay in bed ALL the time. i just love it so much! =)) 

one month.

this is crazy! the babe is already a month old! i don't believe it... in the past month we've learned:

-we likes to sit up more than lie down. he's much happier seeing the world.
- we like lots of washclothes on us in the bath to keep us warm- and putting our toes in the water.
- we like to eat a lot.
- when we dream we have crazy faces.
- we like being walked around to go to sleep.
- we hate getting dressed with those ridiculous onsies that go over our heads.
- we are very very ticklish.
- we need our sucky like mom needs.... needs shoes?
- we fall asleep the instant we walk outside, and wake up the second we come back inside.
- we do not like refried beans and guacamole.
- we talk a lot. {grunting is more like it}
- we take forever to burp
- we like to sleep in mom n dad's bed much more than our own.
- we have fabulous pouty faces. they're going to work miracles when we get bigger.
- we sleep for an average of about 3 hours during the day.
- we have crazy hair.
- we tend to spit up ALL over mom and never on ourselves.
- we make the cat worried when we start crying.
- we are very cute.
- we love mommy and daddy even though they do mean things like tickle me when we don't like it. =)

i think we've come a long way from the beginning of this month, we are fabulous parents already. [hehe]

our little munchkin is still large and in charge, we went to our wic appt this week and he now weighs a little less than 10 1/2 lbs and is 22.5 inches tall. it's amazing how fast he grows! they told us we didn't need to come back until he was 6 months old because obviously such a good feeder. {props to mommy}

it's amazing to me how even though i value my sleep {it's been significantly harder to get up and feed him lately} he always makes me so happy when i pick him up and he makes his little bird sounds and crazy faces that say "feed me mom" i can't wait til he can smile at me when i make ridiculous faces and tickle him, of which he is incredibly ticklish. {levi will do it and he stops breathing for a second and scrunches up his whole body and then throws his arms and legs out, it's quite entertaining}

basically i've decided that we'll keep our child, he's quite cute and entertaining. we love him =)

we've had much family here the last three weeks, {can you believe the babe is almost 3 weeks now? i sure can't.} but my mom was here for about 2 weeks, my dad and josh and grandma in the hospital, followed by grandpa a couple days later and levi's family this past week and my other grandma should be showing up shortly at the end of this week. it's been quite eventful and not that we don't love having everyone, but it'll be nice to have nothing to do this week except hang out by ourselves. and by ourselves i mean the babe and me since levi is at school/work/homework ALL the time.

but baby zak is doing fabulous. he got circumcised this week, {i cried ridiculously in the doctor's office, worst thing to see ever}
he refuses to sleep during the day, everyone that sees him say that he is the most alert baby they've ever seen, which is true he is awake almost all the time {except for when we go out in public, then he's out for ages}. today was the first day he went back to sleep this morning til 11:00 and i was incredibly stoked.
night time we're only waking up at about 4:00 and 7:00, which is fabulous as well... he's a good sleeper at night so i guess it's ok if he doesn't sleep during the day.
bath time has become a success. mom has done it by herself {twice} and no more incessant screaming and crying, basically because mom is prostar. =)

mothers day.

my lovely little baby/husband decided to buy me this for mother's day {i love this holiday, what a fabulous day to celebrate how cool we are and get presents =)}

i'm pretty stoked about it, seeing as we are traveling for about a month in june and with the babe the less to carry the better. i haven't gotten it yet, but i think that the "kindle" is going to be a good investment and pretty awesome.
