65 degrees and sunny.

ummm, have i mentioned how much i love california?? because i do. the weather today-- phenomenal. i get excited just thinking about it. and it's january, it was like 65 degrees! which for all you canadian people who stalk my blog and never comment {ahem}, is roughly around 20 degrees. i remember thinking about how much i hated the idea of moving to san francisco. hated probably is an understatement. it was quite passionate. however, after spending the day shopping for places to live, i love it, despite the outrageous amount of rent that we will be paying. that's ok, we'll make money eventually right? right.

this is probably going to be a long post, but i got several requests to show off places we were looking at so i will have to describe what we found as well as put pictures up. first off, the husband requested having 3 bedrooms so one of them he could study in {which the other half turns into my craft room, hehe} and when we have our second kid sometime during school, they can handle sharing a room. zak will only be 4 anyways by the time we leave. my request was it allowed cats {can't leave the precious animal} and a washer and dryer.

i'm not going to put pics up of the first two we looked at, the first one, cheaper.... but no washer and dryer, it was communal aaaand the place itself was definitely a downgrade from what we have. it would have been a whole lot cheaper and closer, but there was a fantastic one an extra 5 minutes away and i'll suck up the extra money. well, levi will. we looked at 4 places, but narrowed it down to two, and they both said they should have places for us in june and will keep us posted when a 3 bedroom opens up.

this is the first one: called larkspur courts, they didn't have a 3 bedroom to show us of either place so these are the two bedrooms ones.

yes, that would be our deck. it is awesome.

sorry the lighting sucks, but the living room.
coat closet. i've waited 3 years for one of these bad boys. ahhhh i'm so excited to move.
this is the only part that i am not pleased with in this place. it is tinyyy!! and totally closed off so i wouldn't be able to see much going on in the living room. but it's not too bad, so i could make do if necessary.
love that the washer and dryer have cupboards above them. fabulous.
 guest/zak's bathroom
guest/zak's room. not sure which one since there were only two bedrooms in this place.
 part of guest closet.
this master bedroom closer is set up very weird. where zak is is the bathroom and outside of it there are two closets, the one with clothes hanging up and the one at the end. so semi-walk in closet-ish?
 master bedroom.

this place is fantastic, it's about 20 minutes away from the city, there is shopping center right across the street with a couple restaurants and a frozen yogurt place, sushi, etc etc. it has a heated pool year round, several hot tubs throughout the complex and is basically fabulous. i didn't take many pictures of the outside because my camera died, but i do love it.

the second place is actually on the opposite side of san francisco, which means levi would not have to take golden gate bridge in. {did you know that the toll is $6.00??!! that's $30.00 a week just going to school. gah!}it definitely has a different vibe than the other one, it's more city like and less peaceful harbor like but we both still really like it, i think we're actually leaning toward it anyways. it's called la terrazza.

kitchen and dining room. can you say love??! because i do. it's so open!!
the kitchen from the living room.
 view outside the living room.
 washer and dryer. obviously.
 guest/zak shower.
 and sink.
 guest/zak room.
part of living room. i couldn't fit it all in the ipod camera.
part of master bedroom. same problem as above.
you can't see it. but this is a walk in closet. score. absolutely.
 part of connected master bathroom.
patio with storage on the end.

it's a tough choice between the two, i think we'd take either, though the second definitely would work better with school and such. i hope you have thoroughly enjoyed looking at the pictures as much as we did. haha, because i know you all care so much.

huzzah for getting older, moving out of the bubble and on with our lives! =))

  1. OOOO, I LOVE both! The second one is so nice and spacious with the open kitchen, so lovely. But I love the first one as well! When will you find out if a 3 bedroom opens up? I think you would all be happy in either! So exciting- love that city, I sure do!!

  3. It's so sad that you guys are leaving that condo so soon after the floors were redone, but the new places look great! I would definitely lean toward the second place too! I guess we'll see what happens :) That jumper thing looks amazing...I'm starting to think mine isn't as cool as I thought it was, but I can feel better knowing that I am borrowing it and can get a better one when I have to give this one back :) I'm so excited that he is beginning to crawl and I am so jealous of how easily he is taking food. Markus still wants nothing to do with solid foods :( One day...
