big man.

yesterday was my favorite husband's birthday. i love birthdays. i love to celebrate, give awesome presents. do their favorite things. decorate the house. i love it all. luckily, or unluckily, we have two birthdays in one week, so i always get to go a little crazy for that week. holllaaaaaa.

but my spouse turned 27 yesterday. he's so old. he spent several minutes talking about how he is going to be over 30 when he's finally finished school, which may be sending him over the edge a bit. luckily for me, i will only be 28 when he finally decides to start raking in the dough and being my sugar daddy {which is entirely why i married him obviously. these 10 years of school before that, were not what i signed up for. ;)} in any case, we had a grand ol' time celebrating his birthday.

we started the day off by making dad breakfast at the lovely hour of 6:30 in the morning. zak got to wake up extra early and pick what dad was going to eat while he got ready. his choice: obviously pink pancakes with chocolate chips. because who doesn't want that for breakfast?

oh baby, you know you want to eat those things right now.

he was super stoked about the whole being up early eating pancakes thing. he's so lucky.

one of the traditions we i started is having kids pick out presents from them. and by kids, i mean zak because greysen doesn't care yet. so we went to target and zak picked out dinosaur go fish to play with dad, and bubble guns for the two of them. besides telling him like 5 times what they were before he unwrapped them, it was pretty fun to see him get excited for dad to open his presents.

unfortunately, dad couldn't stay and play with us all day {curse dental school}, so we went to playgroup and lunch with friends, but then dad came home early! whoop whoop! and got to use the highly anticipated bubble guns. dun dun dun....

 excited was an understatement.

i love this next series of pics.

aren't they just the handsome-est? how did i get so lucky?
you know you love zak's boots by the way.

then levi got to open my presents to him, which included clothes, a neck massager {which may have been bought so he stops asking me for one every day} and a new case for his computer. thrilling i know.

in case you didn't know that zak gets all in to birthday presents too haha

and so does dad.

yes, this is the coolest present they've ever seen.

but alas, the day did have it's downfall. the ginormous cupcake i made from the "as seen on tv" giant cupcake tins failed. i've never failed at baking before, {i'll blame it on the oven} but when the outsides were done, i could still pour the insides out. so, levi did not get his tie dye birthday cake i was so looking forward to giving him. luckily, we sang and he blew out candles on his pancakes, so that counts for something.

to celebrate for real, we went to the warriors game by ourselves last night. holllaaaaa. some friends from my mom posse watched our kidlets while we rode the motorcyle on the gorgeous day over to oakland. the oral surgeon levi worked with over break gave us 4th row tickets to see them {connections say whaaa?}. i'm afraid now that we've experienced the posh lifestyle at sporting games, i'm not sure if we can return to the ones we can really afford. which is none. but whatevs.

we had a fabulous time. we got to eat in the fancy people lounge, sit by lots of die-hards and/or rich people, talk in adult language, and watch some pretty good basketball. {yeah, they're in the play-offs now. look at my sports knowledge. so involved now.}

to my dismay, the court is a whole lot smaller than it seems on tv. the hoops shorter. and the people a whole lot bigger. levi would be a little shrimp on that court, and he's 6'.

well, i think his birthday was successful. i'm so glad i get to celebrate with you babe! {too bad you never actually read my blog posts unless your friends comment to you, but whatevs} i hope you had a great day! now onto zak's and we shall be done for a season!
