my spouse started dental school this morning. the moment has finally come. no longer will we be watching netflix all day, or going grocery shopping together.... or me going shopping without him and the beast, dang... i'm going to miss that. i regret saying i wanted him to go to school already... but it's only 3 years right? if everyone else can do it, we can too.
we can all tell he's thinking "why do you make me take pictures like this?" i got up and made his lunch this morning for the first time since we've been married. be impressed. and breakfast actually, although it was only a smoothie. i cannot guarantee how many times that will happen because he has to get up at 5:45 everyday. death. do you like his outfit? i picked it out. hehe.
anyways, we have spent our last days of freedom frolicking with our families. we spent the 4th up in reno with mi familia, but alas, i forgot the camera so not one picture from it. fail. but we spent the days at the water park soaking up the 105 degree weather, watching fireworks, and taking pictures for mi madre. it was a good ol' time, though i was very excited to get back to my cool weather.
after that, the lowry's came in to spend the weekend with us for levi's family orientation. we went on a sf dinner cruise on friday night, which was very fun. it was a little chilly, but we survived and got some cute pics out of it.
saturday we spent time at UoP getting a tour {where our child spent most of his time screaming for us to allow him to push the elevator buttons.... he's a little obsessed. and with a group of 20 squished into the elevator, it makes for a lovely time}, having lunch with the dean, and getting the low down on how miserable the next three years will be, and that we should be supportive. no seriously, that's what they said. nice eh?
trivia: did you know that pacific was founded in 1851? who knew they had dentists back in those days? did you know they have 200 chairs in their clinic to treat people everyday? it's a little insane to look at. and also, did you know they accept 140 people out of 3500 applicants? i don't mean to brag, but my husband is a genius.
after the uplifting messages about how dental school sucks, we decided to hit the wharf for some ghiradelli's sundaes. ummm.... they're incredible. yes, i have had them before, but the peanut butter, milk chocolate sundae is to die for! i could eat like four of them. afterwards, we headed up the golden gate bridge to sausalito, to have dinner on the wharf without all the nutso tourists. {because we are no longer tourists. hehehe}it was a grand ol' time, we will be going up there more often i think....
yesterday we spent the day up at the beach house with my grandma and mom, because the weather doesn't suck there, and her house is cooler than mine.
and today.... who knows what we will do today. seriously though, i need to find some friends now.
and to make your day just a little bit brighter:
happy monday!
seriously, you guys are the coolest! i'm so jealous your weather is so perfect! i hate how hot it is here. yuck. how exciting he's starting school! good luck, you guys! it'll be fun! have you met any of the locals yet? i seriously need to get you guys to be introduced to my friends already out there. they're awesome. you'd love them.
