movie review numero tres

i started this movie questioning how good it was going to be, since there are several times when Oscar winning movies are just awful. it turned out better than i thought, buuut not fabulous.

if you don't know the plot of the movie, it's basically about a girl, who is planning on going to Oxford and meets this boy, actually man, who decided to show her the world. i'm guessing that he's probably 30, at least.... in any case... he shows her the world taking her to movies, Paris, restaurants, concerts etc., falls in love with her and then asks her to marry him. and yes, she still is 16. Ohhh and the catch? Haha- he's married. so basically she dropped out of school, didn't take her exams to get into college and her fiancee is a wacko.

and turns out his wife knows all about his galavants with women. awkward.

the part that bugs me is that her parents push her to go to oxford for her whole life, then when she decides to marry him, they support her and then she gets mad at them for letting her "throw her life away"

but in the end she get's accepted to oxford anyways. ohh yeah!

all in all, the movie was OK. not the best plot in my opinion, but sometimes movies don't have happy romantic endings like i would like.

best line from the movie: "you do know that the jews killed our Lord? "you do know that our Lord was a jew?" "that's what the jews would tell you"
